Starescue is Temporarily Closed

To help us stay safe in the fight against coronavirus we’ve decided to temporarily close our doors. We don’t have Covid-19, so please don’t worry. And rest assured, we will be back!!! But until the virus calms down a bit we’re locking down for a little while to help us stay safe.

Thanks for your understanding in these trying times.

Stay safe, and see you soon, Shirley

Face Coverings and Coronavirus

In line with current government guidance on coronavirus, please make sure that you’re wearing a face mask when you visit us for your appointment. This ensures that both you and Shirley are kept as safe as possible during these difficult times.

Also, please don’t visit if you’re experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19, you’re self-isolating or quarantining as a result of a trip abroad.

Thanks and stay safe, Shirley

We’re happy to announce that we’re gradually coming out of lockdown. And will be able to set up socially-distanced viewings. We’re currently updating our site with new animals looking for new homes. Please call us if you are interested in rehoming any of our animals and don’t forget to check back on the website for new additions.

Increase to Donation for Adoptions

Due to increased veterinary costs, I’m afraid we are going to have to ask for an increased donation when anyone adopts a pet. This is the first time for a long time that we’ve put up the donation, which goes towards vet bills, in particular neutering and micro-chipping. Please note that as of now, donations will be £50 per animal, or £90 for a pair. Thanks for your understanding and we appreciate your continued support.

Big Thank you to Aurora

We’d just like to give a big shout-out to our friends at Aurora, who kindly donate their fantastic soft toys to us for our lucky dip. Visitors to our stall love winning them! Thanks again for your kindness – we really appreciate it!

Volunteer Driver Wanted

We’re looking for someone to help with driving our van. This would be for taking animals to the vet’s on a fairly regular basis (e.g. when they’re being neutered) during the week, and collecting them again the same day.

We might also need a bit of help some weekends during the summer when we’re fundraising with transporting our stuff to shows.

Please get in touch if you have a clean driving licence, you’re an animal lover and you’re available on week days.
